Over the years, I have grown to appreciate a lot of the little details in life and for good or bad realized that "life can get in the way of living".  As such, contemporary glass is a new kind of expression for me and as much as I would love to say that every piece that I work on comes out exactly as I imagined it - it doesn't and I love that.

In fact, it is that very element of working with glass that I parallel so much to life and although it may be a hunk of glass, it acts somewhat like a portal - a portal that I seek to share with anyone willing to take a peek.

What I like

Perhaps the single largest satisfaction gained from my work in glass is the satisfaction of seeing someone stop and look a bit deeper into a piece.  This moment of pause, of curiosity is much like a brief intermission from life since what people see inside is different for each of them.  At the same time they are all looking into the same world, a world that is completely foreign, a world without schedules, deadlines or car payments, a world seemingly frozen in time.

This can be a bit eerie as well because what they usually see is the same elements that were seen and brought out in the piece to begin with.  Eerie because at that moment they see something that I had seen as well; and it is a very subjective vision.  Unlike the objective viewpoint of photography where one can only see what is presented - the subjective vision that I am referring to relates to the depth as well as the composition.

Anyway, below are a couple of links breaking up the glass site for you to view:

Wrap Up

There isn't a lot to say except I appreciate you taking the time to review my different work.
