Thank you for reviewing my photography – actually these came about during my ongoing study of light, refraction, and illuminated textures – nature is a wonderful artist. Almost all of these shots are taken during periods when the sun is behind the horizon when the light begins to bend through the atmosphere (typically lasting only about 5 minutes).  I wish I could tell everyone this happens all the time but it doesn’t and that is kinda cool (I believe appreciation comes from the rarity).

These works deal with the color, hues and gradations of the sky and its effect on the earth. The deliberate use of high contrast, silhouettes and light direction add to dramatic accenting of color found in these scapes and creates an almost surreal view of these naturally lit scenes.

These works are only available in a limited series print in a variety of sizes from single size mat-mounted images (like these) to oversize 20”x36”which make them suitable for color accenting in rooms.

Price Basis

Size (largest dimension) Edition/AP Price
Standard (~14”) 250/20 $95/$135
Oversized (~24”) 100/10 $180/$225
Wall (~36”) 50/5 $385/$495
all prices include mounting on large border acid-free mat (except wall) – color selection of mat is available for unmounted prints.

P.S. If you like the use of this style of color but would like to see other scapes in different shades and hues to better match your decor, feel free to contact me for a portfolio review or discuss a personalized theme scape and dimension you have in mind.

A word about my prints: All of my prints use archival-grade pigment based ink which have a long term fade proof life of 100+ years and exhibit none of the problems of ozone gas or ultra-violet fading and contamination found with dye based inks. The paper is semi matte ultra white. All paper, mat and tape is 100% acid-free further preserving your print. Please let me know if you need more protection from light or have a special purpose in mind.

Actually, I am not a printer but rather handle the equivalent of a “prepress” function in a different kind of way.  With the increased amount of emerging technology in the printing industry it has become clear that with the number of vendors and service providers come a myriad of solutions.   With the different projects that I take on, I find the right service vendor for the right fit.  Some of the current projects that I am working on are:

  • Birds of Paradise – R. Havell: These exquisite watercolor prints from the famed Robert Havell (Audubon Fame) have been fully restored to their original condition (circa 1836).  They are in the process of being photographically archived for the owner in a true 1:1 film print and then digitally scanned with a high-resolution drum scanner for possible reproduction in a limited series release of these prints.  Obviously, these prints represent one of the highest demands placed on the finer details and requirements of reproduction prints.
  • Sailing Ships: An excellent collection of engraved prints (circa 1802) that also are being photographically archived and high resolution scanned for potential reproduction to oversized elephant size folios.  Since these are engraving prints, the absence of color saves some preparation but increases the need for capturing the detail of the engraving itself.
  • Aviation Art: A current collaboration with a number of 3D designers and a handful of traditional artists.  These images are being reproduced in limited editions series prints.
